Literary Research
The Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Sri Vijaya Puram (formerly known as Port Blair) is a peripheral unit of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), operating under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Established to promote and advance research in Ayurveda, RARI Sri Vijaya Puram focuses on various areas, including clinical research, fundamental research, medicinal plant research, and literary research.
Literary research at RARI Sri Vijaya Puram involves the study and analysis of classical Ayurvedic texts to preserve traditional knowledge and explore its contemporary applications. This research is part of the broader efforts by CCRAS, which publishes journals such as the Journal of Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Journal of Drug Research in Ayurveda Sciences, and Journal of Indian Medical Heritage to disseminate findings and promote scholarly discourse in the field of Ayurveda.
In addition to textual studies, RARI, Sri Vijaya Puram engages in various research activities, including clinical trials, fundamental research, and the documentation of traditional knowledge. These efforts contribute to the understanding and development of Ayurvedic practices and their integration into modern healthcare systems.
